ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern Oklahoma State Cheerleading has made changes to the format for becoming a member of the team. After using open gyms the team is changing the format back to tryouts.
We have made some exciting changes to how we are building our Ranger Cheerleading Team! We are switching back to tryouts. We are in the process of adding competitive cheerleading into our program! Which is why tryouts can be a great experience for new and returning athletes. The environment established during the tryout process gives athletes that competitive feel but also gives them something to look forward to and be excited about. Furthermore, tryouts give coaches a real sense of their player's ability and commitment. Tryouts contribute to not only the success of athletes individually, but the whole team as well.
Open Gyms are not required, but the more open gyms that are attended the easier tryouts will be.
*Offers can still be given out at opens gyms or before tryouts*
If you've received an offer, you will be required to submit your most current high school/college transcript. You will have two weeks to notify us of your decision to accept or decline our offer. If that time period expires before you have made your decision, you may attend additional open gyms. This would reset that two week period, but we reserve the right to not make an offer at that time.
