ALVA, OKLA - Northwestern Oklahoma State Lady Rangers look to build off of Thursday's night victory over Arkansas Tech, continuing the play well at home. The Red-and-Black will look to split the season series against Harding University after their first meeting in January. Saturday will be senior day with traditional senior activities starting at 12:50 and tip-off set for 1:00 PM.
The Lady Rangers (14-11 overall, and 10-9 GAC) will enter Saturday coming off a win over Arkansas Tech. The Red-and-Black bring in a 11-2 record at home including two straight wins and eight of the last nine at home.
Northwestern continues to be led in scoring by Bailey Brown and Scout Frame as the two Lady Rangers averaging double figures. Brown is scoring 19 points per game with Frame at 16.1. Kinsey Neiderer leads the team in three point shooting with 45 made on the season. While Carly Craig has a team high of 109 assists on the season. The 109 assists on the season is second in the conference including 4.5 assists per game.
The Red-and-Black came into the game ranked seventh in scoring at 71.2 points per game, while shooting 42.4% from the field which is fourth in the conference. Brown leads the team at 50.5% good for third in the conference. As a team the Lady Rangers rank sixth third in the conference in team assists per game at 14.7 each outing.
Defensively the Lady Rangers are led by Brown Craig and Josena Frame all with over 30 steals, with Brown leading the team with 11 blocks on the season and Camille Thomas at seven. Northwestern forces 16 turnovers per game which ranks seventh in the conference overall. Northwestern is fourth in points allowed at 65 points a game holding their opponent to 38.3% shooting. The Lady Rangers continue to be one of the better rebounding teams leading the conference in rebounding margin with a plus 8.5 differential. The Rangers are third in rebounds per game at 41.2. The Red-and-and-Black are led by Bailey Brown and Scout Frame at 8.2 and 7.1 rebounds per game.
Scouting Harding University:
The Bisons(13-6 overall and 13-6 GAC) enter play dropping their last game at Southwestern Thursday night by 13 points. The Bisons on the road overall are 7-4 this season but have lost their last two games (Southwestern and Arkansas Tech) away from Searcy.
Harding is led in scoring by Sage Hawley at 16.5 points per game one of three double figure scoring averages as she is joined by Hannah Collins and Jacie Evans are scoring 14.5 and 10.4 a game. They have helped the visitors score the fifth most points in the conference at 73.2 points a game on 40.9% shooting from the field ranking sixth in the GAC. Harding ranks second in the conference in assists per game at 14.8 and third total on the season. Collins leads the team at 72 on the year.
Defensively Harding allows the seventh most points on the season at 68.9 per game while holding their opponent to 39.8% shooting from the field. They force the ninth most turnovers per game at 14 as Collins leads the team with 47 steals on the season followed by Jacie Evans at 35. Sage Hawley leads the team with 38 blocks on the season with 10 rebounds per game.
History:
The Bisons lead the series history 17-0 dating back to 2013 against the Rangers as Northwestern looks to bring an end to that Bisons streak. Harding took the first meeting this season between the two 61-39 back in late January as the Rangers looked to even the season series.
In that January game Scout Frame led the team with 11 points on the evening with 11 rebounds picking up the double-double. Camille Thomas was able to score seven points off the bench leading the Rangers in that category.
