ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State University Director of Athletics Brad Franz has announced the hiring of new Ranger Golf Coach Dan Campbell.

"Dan Campbell comes highly recommended as an up and coming college golf coach. Dan has shown a strong work ethic and has worked to build his golf coaching career. His commitment to academics is excellent and his student-athletes will succeed not only on the course but in the classroom. We are happy to have him join the Ranger Family and lead our golf programs," stated Brad Franz, Northwestern Oklahoma State University Athletic Director.

Campbell will be the fifth Ranger Golf coach in the Division II era for Northwestern, and is the head coach of the Men's and Women's Programs.

"I am thrilled to be joining the Northwestern Oklahoma State family! I'm extremely thankful to Dr. Cunningham, Dr. Hannaford, Coach Franz, and Coach Lauderdale for believing in me. I can't wait to grow the game of golf in the Alva community and take both our men's and women's programs to a new level," stated Dan Campbell on the position.

Prior to Campbell being named head coach at Northwestern, he was the assistant coach at McDaniel College in Maryland. At McDaniel he coached golfers for both the men and women through tournaments and practice including earning three tournament victories. He played a role in recruiting both on the road and digitally. Since the offseason he has been in the process of growing the game and continuing his love of teaching golf lessons.

Campbell has had a plethora of golf experience outside his time at McDaniel College. During this time at Five Iron he honed his skills while working with professionals to collaborate instructional techniques.

Growing up in a family of PGA professionals, he understands what it takes to be successful on the golf course. He has been caddying since the age of 12 at multiple New England and Southern Massachusetts PGA sectionals, the Massachusetts Open, and most recently Congressional Country Club which has hosted five major championships including three U.S. Opens and a PGA Championship. He started running golf clinics in high school teaching the next generation the sport and through his work with the First Tee, a youth development organization introducing the game of golf and its inherent values to young people. Campbell has had the opportunity to lead several golf tournaments within the sport at multiple country clubs.

The Massachusetts native graduated in 2020 with a degree in Entrepreneurship and a minor in Sports Management from Elon University.
