ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State Women's Golf team concluded the OBU invitational Tuesday in fourth place. The Rangers had their best outing of the fall season finishing with a total score of 645 as a team.
The 645 team score is the second lowest team score in program history just behind the 642 score as the current record. Northwestern shot a 322 in the first day before a 323in day two which both sit in the top five for lowest team rounds.
Northwestern was led by Samantha Friday as she set a Ragner record for the lowest round score of 71 on the second day after shooting par on 10 holes. Included in that she had two bridie's and an eagle on hole 17. Total for the invitational she shot a 152 which is second in Ranger history. Friday finished third overall in the invitational.
The second Northwestern golfer to finish was Sofia McElroy finishing the tournament with a 153 which is third in the Ranger record books. McElroy shot a 74 in the opening round before a 79 in round two. She finished fourth overall in the tournament hosted by Oklahoma Baptist.
Madison Masch finished third for the Rangers and sixteenth overall following a 168 in the tournament. She opened the round shooting a 79 before shooting an 89 on day two.
Angela Egger finished tied for 20th Tuesday after shooting a 93 in the first round, before improving her score by nine shots on round two. In the second round Egger finished with an 84 for a total score of 177.
Madison Kerr shot a 179 in the OBU invitational after shooting an 88 on day one before carding a 91 on the second day.
The Rangers will be back in action on October 16th-18th as Northwestern hosts the 2022 Ranger invite in Enid, Oklahoma.
