RUSSELLVILLE, ARKANSAS - Northwestern Men's Cross Country competed in the Men's Cross Country Great American Conference Championships Saturday morning. The Rangers placed 5th overall in the meet out of eight teams.
Northwestern leading runner was Christian Franklin pacing the Ranger cross country team with a time of 25:42.05. Franklin finished the meet 19th overall. This earned Franklin second team All-GAC.
Riley Herndon was second for Northwestern finishing with a time of 25:52.11 placing 23rd overall in the meet.
Salat Ibrahim was the third Ranger to finish in the meet placing 32 overall, running a final time of 26:13.12.
Next, for Northwestern was Brandon Adolphus finishing 46th overall with a time of 27:00.32 joining him just inside the top 50 was Edward Robledo-Gonzalez, Aaron Medrano and Zachary Cox. Robledo-Gonzalez placed 48th overall with a time of 27:02.86 as Medrano finished 27:04.95 for 49th place. Cox was 50th with a time of 27:06.10.
Alan Lares ran a 8k time of 27:24.11 which placed him 54th overall in the meet. Edgar Reyes had a time of 27:31.54 finishing 56th overall in the meet.
Crispus Atukwatse and Basheer Suied were the next two Rangers placing 63rd and 67th with times of 27:44.12 and 28:04.16.
In 71st overall Jeremy Smith ran a 28:12.56 in the conference meet. Finishing behind Smith were Muneer Suied and Ben Morfin with a 28:57.78 and 28:59.90 placing 86 and 88th overall.
Hunter Bellis was the final Ranger as he placed 96th in the meet with a time of 29:29.30.
East Central won the meet with a total of 15 points followed by Oklahoma Baptist and Harding rouding out the top three.
Next for Northwestern is the NCAA Regional meet on November 4th which takes place in Joplin Missouri.
