EDMOND, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State Men's golf competed in Edmond Monday and Tuesday at the Broncho Invitational. Central Oklahoma hosted the invitational at Rose Creek.
The Rangers finished the tournament placing 14th out of 16 programs. Northwestern shot a 951 over the three rounds improving as a team each day 320-319-312.
Northwestern was led by Joey Nix finishing with the best scorers for the invitational. Nix placed tied for 40th overall. Nix finished with three birdies and 34 pars. The 34 shots for par was tied for the most in the tournament. He finished with a 234 following a 78-81-75.
Maz Garza was second for the Ranges after placing 48th overall. He finished with an overall score of 236. He shot a total of six birdies along with 27 pars. The round scorers with 79-76-81 for Garza.
In 67th place in the invitational the third Ranger is Kennan Hofstad. He shot 24 pars and a total of six birdies in a three round tournament. Overall he shot a 81-81 and 79 for a 241.
Ryder Heuston was the next Ranger to finish, placing in 73rd. He shot an 82-81-81 for a total of 544. He shot one birdie along with an Eagle for the tournament. He was one of eleven in the tournament to have an Eagle.
The final Ranger was Cade Seymour, placing 77th overall in the tournament and fifth for the Rangers. His best round was the last one shooting a 77 after and 84-85 in his opening day Seymour shot 26 pars along with a team high six players .
Central Oklahoma won the home invitational after shooting a 894 total as a team. Bennett Baldwin the tournament lead for individual play. He shot a total of 219- followed by Christian Yanovitch with a score of 220.
Northwestern will have about a month off before traveling to Arkansas for the Golf invitational hosted by Harding.Â
