Simpson Earns Second Straight, Fifth Overall Player of the Week Award

ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State forward Faith Simpson earned her second straight and fifth overall GAC Player of the Week award this season on Monday. Lady Rangers finished the week 2-0 with wins over Southern Arkansas and Arkansas Monticello.

Faith Simpson was the Lady Ranger's leading scorer in both games this week averaging 28.5 points per game along with nine rebounds, three blocks and a steal.

In game one of the week against Southern Arkansas, Simpson earned her fifth double-double of the season scoring 27 points along with bringing down 12 rebounds including four offensive rebounds. On the defensive side of the floor Simpson had three blocks and two steals leading the Rangers to a 65-49 victory.

On Saturday Simpson followed up the Thursday win with her third 30 point game of the season with six rebounds and three more blocks, while helping the Rangers to a 75-52 win over Arkansas Monticello.

The Rangers will be on the road this week against Henderson State on Thursday before facing Ouachita Baptist on Saturday afternoon. The Rangers will be home next on February 15th against Southwestern Oklahoma State.
