OWASSO, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State Men's Golf completed the Hillcat Classic Tuesday afternoon after a two day tournament at the Bailey Ranch Golf Club. The Rangers placed inside the top five with a third place finish with a total of 894 (302-290-302).
Overall Rogers State won the invitational with a total of 859 (286-285-288). The individual winner was Jackson Cole of Arkansas Tech with a total of 210 (70-68-72) after the three rounds.
Noah Carpenter led the way for the Rangers after a top 10 finish placing eighth overall with a total of 220 with his best round in the second with a 71. Carpenter finished with 29 pars in the tournament while adding 11 birdies which was the 8th most in the tournament and highest on the Rangers.
Next for the Rangers was Pierce Geminden and Davan Smith tying for 18th in the tournament with a total of 226. Geminden had a best round of 70 in the second round. He had 33 pars overall, the second most on the Rangers while adding six birdies.
Smith finished with 31 pars overall between the three rounds alongside 10 birdies, the second most on the team. His best round came in the second round with a 73.
Fourth for the Rangers was Cade Seymour placing 23rd overall in the tournament with a total of 228. His best round came in the first round with a final number of 73. Seymour had 27 pars with a total of eight birdies between the three rounds.
Tied for 26th overall in the tournament was Matti Zerwin with a total of 230. His best round came in the third round at 75. Zerwin had a Ranger high of 34 pars in the tournament adding five birdies as well.
Next for Northwestern was Max Garza who placed 41st in the Hillcat Classic with a total of 243 with a best round coming in the first round at 79. Garza had 27 pars in the classic with five birdies.
Northwestern will next be in Edmond, Oklahoma for a tournament at the Rose Creek Country Club hosted by Central Oklahoma.
