ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Faith Simpson on Thursday afternoon was named to the All-Regional team for the D2CCA. She earns All-Central Region Player of the year and All-Central Region First Team honors. She became the first Lady Rangers player to earn D2CCA Central Region Player of the Year.
Simpson adds the D2CCA honors after an outstanding season where she has earned GAC Player of the Year and GAC All-Conference First Team.
Her accolades accomplished during the 2023-2024 season also included 6x GAC player of the week, D2CIDA National Player of the Week, led the conference in scoring, top 3 in the nation in PPG, first in field goals made, and top three in all of DI and DII. She also surpassed the 2,000 career points, and 1,000 career rebounds mark, while also scoring over 1,000 points here at Northwestern in two seasons.
Simpson helped lead the Lady Rangers to the most wins in the Division II era along with the most conference wins since joining the Great American Conference. This was the first 20-win season since the 1999-2000 season. Simpson finished the season averaging 21.6 points per game, with her season high 44 points, while adding 8.2 rebounds. The Ranger forward finished the season with seven double doubles.
Five players overall from the Great American Conference earned All-Regional Team including Sage Hawley (Harding), Hannah Giddey (Southern Nazarene), Lauryn Reither (Southern Nazarene), Ashley, Farrar (Henderson State).
