Lady Rangers Face Arkansas-Monticello Thursday Evening At Home

ALVA, OKLAHOMA - The Northwestern Oklahoma State Lady Rangers (6-8, 3-5 GAC) is returning home for the first of three straight home games. Northwestern looks to snap a three game losing streak since the break as Northwestern faces Arkansas Monticello (8-6, 3-5 GAC).

This is match-up number 25 of the series history between the two teams dating back to 1978. Northwestern leads the series 13-11. The Lady Rangers have won the last two meetings after a season sweep a year ago and have won seven of the last 10 games against the Blossoms. Northwestern is 9-2 in Alva against Arkansas Monticello. Lady Rangers won the match-up in Alva a season ago 75-52.

Northwestern is 6-2 at home winning the last two games in Percefull Fieldhouse as the Lady Rangers look to make it three straight wins at home after home wins against East Central and Southern Nazarene.

The Lady Rangers have lost three straight after the break to Oklahoma Baptist, Ouachita Baptist and Henderson State. The last time out the Lady Rangers lost a close 72-69 game to Henderson State. Northwestern was led by Jaida Shipp with 23 points and 10 rebounds, one of two players with a double-double along with Payton Jones finishing with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The Rangers are led by Payton Jones at 14.4 points per game, one of three double figure scorers with Hight at 12.2 and Kira Bass with 10.6. Jones is seventh in the conference in points per game after scoring double figures in 13 of 14 games. Kira Bass is second in the conference in offensive rebounds per game at 3.3 followed by Camille Thomas at 2.9 for 5th. Carly Craig is second in the conference in three point percentage at 36.9%. Hight leads the team in assists at 49 on the season for 3.8 per game for a conference rank of 4th. Craig is second with 43 for 3.1 per game. 

Kira Bass leads the team in blocks now on the season with 15 after seven blocks over the last two games for fifth in the conference. She is second on the team in steals with 22 behind Camille Thomas of 26.

The Lady Rangers defense is second in the conference in turnovers forced per game at 19.57, and second with turnover margin. Northwestern is also second in scoring with 69.7 points per game.

Arkansas Monticello:

Arkansas Monticello enters play with a 8-6 record and a 3-5 conference record. The Blossoms are 2-3 on the road this season. Arkansas Monticello is 3-2 in their last five games.

The last time out Arkansas Monticello lost to Southeastern Oklahoma State in Monticello, Arkansas 80-70. In the loss the Blossoms were led by Bailey Harris with 16 points, one of three players in double figures in the loss.

Bailey Harris is the only double figure scorer this season at 14.4 points per game for ninth in the conference. She is followed by three players scoring eight points per game in Camille Pritchard, Haleigh Crews, and Alindsey Long. Kelsey Blakemore leads the team with 30 assists followed by Crews with 28 assists.  

Ella Mask is the team leader in steals at 19 points on the defensive end of the floor. Bailey Harris has a team high six blocks while adding 18 steals on the season.
