AFTON, Okla. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State men's golf team finished ninth at the MSSU Fall Invitational on Tuesday.
Central Oklahoma won the tournament by shooting a combined 10 under par, while Baylor Bostick of Central Oklahoma won the tournament with four under par.
The Rangers showed improvement in every round on their way to a top-half finish, as they shot a combined 404 in the first round, 384 in the second round, and rallied back with 364 in the final round.
Max Courange led the Rangers in 24th place out of 100 golfers with 75 in the first round, 78 in the second round, and knocked in six birdies to finish right at par with 72 in the last round.
Matti Zerwin started out with 84 in the opening round, but quickly rebounded with 72 and 70, including an eagle in round two and seven birdies in the last round.
Pierce Geminden helped with the rally in round three, as he posted rounds of 81, 77, and 71, while
Chris Xiao started with 77 in the first round, put up 80 in the second round, and finished with 78 in the last round.
Zac Farmer got off to a slow start with 87 in the opening round, but bounced back with 77 in the second round and 73 in the final round.
The Rangers will be back in action on October 27th and 28th in Broken Arrow at Indian Springs Golf Course for the Tulsa Cup hosted by Rogers State University.
