ALVA, OKLAHOMA - The Northwestern Oklahoma State Lady Rangers Women's Basketball team (12-11, 9-8 GAC) is back home Saturday to face Oklahoma Baptist (15-8, 11-6 GAC). Rangers will look to bounce back at home after having the two-game win streak snapped on Thursday to Southwestern. Rangers have won seven straight at home and are 11-2 in Percefull Fieldhouse this season.
This match up is number 35 in the series history between the two programs since 2007. Oklahoma Baptist leads 22-12 in the series history including a win earlier in the season 83-70 over the Lady Rangers. The Bison have won four of the last five games in the series and are 10-7 in Alva. Kennedy Hight was the Lady Rangers leading scorer in the match up earlier this season with 30 points.
Northwestern has won three of the last five games with two of those wins at home last week against Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist before a Thursday night loss to Southwestern 78-61.
In the last time out the Lady Rangers were led by Carly Craig with 18 points who knocked down four three-pointers in six tries. She had a team-high four assists in the loss. Kira Bass was the team's leading rebounder with eight.Â
Northwestern is led by Payton Jones averaging 12.8 points per game, one of three players scoring double figures. She is joined by Kennedy Hight and Carly Craig both over the double-digit mark at 11.4 and 10.3. Craig leads the team with 88 assists on the season which is good for third in the conference. Craig is first in three-point percentage 35.8% and second in the conference in three-pointers per game. Kira Bass is second in the conference in offensive rebounds with 3.1 per game.
Carly Craig leads the team in steals with 45 on the season for fourth in the conference followed by Camille Thomas who has 38 for seventh in the conference and also adds 14 blocks. Kira Bass is first on the team in blocks with 21 while adding 28 steals on the season. Camille Thomas has a team-high 6.1 rebounds per game.
The Lady Rangers lead the conference in offensive rebounds per game at 14.1 and are second in the conference in steals per game at 9.7. The team is second in the conference in turnovers forced per game at 18.36 per game.Â
OKLAHOMA BAPTIST:
The Bison look to bounce back from Thursday's loss to Southern Nazarene 58-54 in Shawnee. Oklahoma Baptist is 2-3 in their last five games and is 15-8 on the season with an 11-6 conference record.Â
Last time out in the loss to Southern Nazarene the Bison were led by Payten Conde with 18 points one of two double figures joined by Mackenzie Crusoe with 15 points. Sierra Copeland had six steals in the game to lead the team on defense.Â
Overall the team is led by Mackenzie Crusoe this season with 16.8 points per game the only Bison averaging double figures. Second on the team is Jaedyn Getman at 9.4 points a game. Crusoe leads the team in assists as well with 79 on the year.
Defensively the team is led by Mackenzie Crusoe with 40 steals on the season with five blocks. Sierra Copeland has a team-high 25 blocks on the year with 34 steals. Copeland has a team-high 5.2 rebounds per game.Â
The Bison are second in the conference in field goal percentage defense holding the opponent to 37.9%. The team is first in bench points per game at 29.5. Bison are first in the conference in three-pointers per game.
