Lady Rangers Return Home for the First of Two Home Games

ALVA, OKLAHOMA - The Northwestern Oklahoma State Lady Rangers (10-10, 7-7 GAC)  return home on Thursday evening for the first of two straight games in Percefull Fieldhouse. Thursday's game will close out the regular season series with Henderson State (9-11, 7-7 GAC). These two teams met back on January 11th of this year as the Reddies held on for a 72-69 win over the Lady Rangers.

This match-up is number 24 in the series history between the two programs. Henderson State leads the all time series history 13-10 over Northwestern. The Lady Rangers have won three of the last five games in the series including three straight in Alva. Series is tied 5-5 in the last 10 match-ups. Jaida Shipp was the team's leading scorer in the first match-up with 23 points.

Northwestern split their trip to Arkansas with a win over Harding (63-61), before dropping the match-up with Arkansas Tech (64-51). Overall the Lady Rangers have won three of the last five games heading into the match-up with Henderson State.

In the last time out in the loss to Arkansas Tech the Lady Rangers were led by Kira Bass with 13 points one of two double-figure scorers joined by Camille Thomas with 11 points. Bass also led with seven rebounds. Carly Craig had a team-high five steals.

Northwestern is led by Payton Jones averaging 11.8 points per game, one of three players scoring double figures. She is joined by Kennedy High and Carly Craig both over the double-digit mark at 11.4 and 10.5. Craig leads the team with 72 assists on the season which is good for third in the conference. Craig is first in three-point percentage and second in the conference in three-pointers per game. Kira Bass is second in the conference in offensive rebounds with 3.2 per game.

Carly Craig leads the team in steals with 39 on the season followed by Camille Thomas who has 34 with 12 blocks. Kira Bass is first on the team in blocks with 19 while adding 25 steals on the season as well. Camille Thomas has a team-high 6.4 rebounds per game.

The Lady Rangers lead the conference in offensive rebounds per game at 14.4. The team is second in the conference in turnovers forced per game at 18.25 per game. 

HENDERSON STATE REDDIES:

Henderson State enters Thursday with a 9-11 overall record and a 7-7 conference record. The Reddies are 4-6 on the road this season. Overall Henderson State has won three straight games with wins over Southern Arkansas (75-68), East Central (74-68), and Southeastern (64-62).

Last time out in a win over Southeastern the Reddies were led by Natalie Cardenas with 15 points in the game, one of three players in double figures. Bobbi Bazzle had a game-high 14 rebounds in the win.

Overall the team is led by Brynlee Huggins who is averaging 15.7 points per game, one of three players scoring double figures. Tied with Huggins is Jadah Pickens at 15.7 points per game, with the third player Natalie Cardenas at 14.8. Huggins is first in the conference in three-pointers made per game and total but second in the conference in percentage. 

Defensively Sam Basson leads the team in steals tied with Klowie Pike at 24 each on the season. Bobbi Bazzle is the team leader in blocks with 17 while adding 12 steals.

Henderson State is second on the team in three pointers per game hitting 7.7 a game in the conference and third in total rebounds per game.
