Agathe and Romane Lacoste Earn Regional Invite

ALVA, OKLAHOMA - The NCAA announced Monday that two Ranger Golfers will be competing as individuals at the upcoming Central Regional Tournament. This is the first time in program history that the Rangers will have individuals at regionals.

Agathe Lacoste and Romane Lacoste were selected for the field as individuals. Romane Lacoste is the number one individual heading into the regional, as Agathe Lacoste is third for individuals.

"We are extremely proud of Romane and Agathe getting to represent Ranger golf at regionals this year.  With everything this program battled through this season, it feels that much better to be playing when it matters most.  I know how much this means for Romane and Agathe and couldn't be happier for them.  We are excited to go represent Ranger golf with pride at Kickingbird next week," stated head coach Dan Campbell

Romane Lacoste enters the regional ranked #11. Lacoste has a 75.7 scoring average which led the team in 25 rounds played. Set the school 1-round scoring record (67), the second-round scoring record, and the three-round scoring record this season. She has earned 2X GAC Player of the week, had 4 rounds under par, finished top 10 in 7 of the 10 tournaments, and finished top five in 5 of the 10 tournaments. Her best finish was 1st at OBU Invite (75-73-67), 1st at Hardscrabble Invitational, and earned 2nd team all-conference this season. She most recently placed 12th overall in the conference tournament.

Agathe Lacoste ranked #42 in the regional rankings with an average score of 77.8 after a 21st place finish at conference. Lacoste was first at the Diffee For Lincoln Invitational. She had three other top 10 finishes this season at the OBU Fall Invitational, the Oklahoma Women's Intercollegiate, and the Newman Fall Invitational.

The Central Regional tournament will be held at the KickingBird Golf Club in Edmond, Oklahoma, hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma on May 5th through the 7th.

The participants will compete in a 54-hole competition, as the top four teams advance along with the top two individuals not on a team that advanced to the championships. Championships are held May 13-17 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.
