MUSKOGEE, Okla. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State men's golf team finished tenth at the NSU Men's classic on Tuesday.
Central Oklahoma won the tournament by shooting 24 under par as a team, while Sam Sewell of Arkansas-Fort Smith won the individual title while shooting 67 in round one, 66 in round two, and 69 in round three.
Mathieu Zerwin led the Rangers, as he leaped 27 spots to finish in a tie for fifth by shooting an even 71 in the first round, before recording 70 in the second round, and hitting his stride with 64 in the third and final round.
Zac Farmer started off with 75 in round one, and improved with a 65 in round two before closing out by shooting 74 in the final round.
Max Courange shot a balanced 72, 72, and 73 in the final round, while
Pierce Geminden started with 73 and 75 before closing out strong by shooting 70 in the last round.
Zhicheng Xiao shot rounded out the Rangers with 72 in the first round, 76 in the second round, and 73 in the last round.
The Rangers will be back in action on September 29th and 30th in Newton, Kansas at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course for the Newman Invitational hosted by Newman University.
