SAN ANTONIO – The Northwestern Oklahoma State men's golf team finished ninth at the Rattler Invitational on Tuesday.
Midwestern State won the tournament by shooting at par, while Nathan Biais of Northeastern State won the individual tournament with rounds of 72, 72, and 68.
An-chieh Tsai finished 22nd out of 87 golfers with rounds of 74, 72, and 77, as he recorded four birdies in each of the last two rounds.
Pierce Geminden started off with rounds of 74 and 77, but got on a hot streak in the final round with five birdies in nine holes to finish with his best round of the tournament at 73.
Matti Zerwin followed the same path as Geminden, as he had 74 in the opening round, 80 in the second round, and closed out strong with four birdies and an eagle in the 11th hole to finish at 71 in the closing round.
Zac Farmer started off with 76 in the first round, rebounded with 74 in the second, and finished with 79 in the final round.
Chris Xiao rounded out the Rangers with rounds of 78, 74, and 81, and chipped in two eagles in the second round.
The Rangers will be back in action on March 2, as they travel to Shadow Valley Country Club in Rogers, Arkansas for the Shadow Valley Invitational hosted by the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith.
