Rangers Conclude Rattler Invitational

SAN ANTONIO – The Northwestern Oklahoma State women's golf team competed in its first tournament of the spring season at the Rattler Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.

Dallas Baptist won the tournament by shooting two over par as a team, while Ella Cheek of Dallas Baptist won the individual tournament with rounds of 65, 70, and 67.

Gracie Doke led the Rangers with rounds of 80, 73, and 87, including chipping in two birdies each in the first two rounds. Tess Linden opened the tournament with 80 before improving by shooting 79 in the second round, and finished out with 85 in the third round.

Amanda Lane started off with rounds of 87 and 92, and rebounded on the final round by shooting 87. Heather Hunkele followed a similar pattern, as she shot rounds of 91 and 92 before finishing with 89 in the final round. Ava Borne got better in each round, as she opened the tournament with 95, improved to 94 in the second round, and finished with 86 in the final round.

The Rangers will be back in action on March 2, when they travel to the Kickingbird Golf Course in Edmond for the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational hosted by Southern Nazarene University.
