Malakhi Straker started the Rangers off strong with a victory in the High Jump. The Freshman jumped a mark of 1.93m.Â
Both Men's and Women's Long Jump had strong outings. The Women were led by Taylor Weber in 6th place and Hannah Betts close behind in 7th. Weber jumped for a mark of 5.09m, while Betts jumped for a mark of 5.05m. Byron Brown led the Men with a jump of 6.82m. Brown finished in 7th place.Â
Byron Brown competed in the Triple Jump as well. Brown earned a 2nd place finish with a mark of 14.16mÂ
The Women's Discus Throw resulted in two more top ten finishes for the Rangers. Brianna Behrendt finished in 3rd place with a throw of 44.23m. Brianna Wilson-Larkin finished in 6th place. Wilson-Larkin threw for a mark of 41.16m.Â
Mercedes Glover continued the momentum with a 5th place finish in the Women's Hammer Throw. Glover threw for 50.13m. Kaylan Swindle earned herself a top 15 finish with a throw of 41.02m.Â
Merric Judd earned a 7th place finish in the Men's 400mH. Judd ran a time of 57.37.Â
In the Men's 800m, the Rangers showed improvement with four sub 2 minute times. Julian Vess led the way with a time of 1:57.58. Riley Herndon was close behind with a time of 1:57.72. Kaleb Madden followed with a PR of 1:58.52, and Cooper Bell crossed the line with a time of 1:58.98.Â
Jamaira Ross broke another school record in the 3000m Steeplechase. She broke her own record with a time of 11:09.97. This earned her a 3rd place finish.Â
In the Women's 5000m run, Ivy Washington earned an 11th place finish. Washington ran a time of 18:23.78. On the Men's side of the event Zachary Cox finished in 17th place clocking a time of 15:30.32.Â
The Ranger track teams close out the regular season next weekend at Pitt State.
