PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State women's track and field team competed at the Pitt State Tune-Up on Sunday for their final meet before the GAC Championship.
In the running events,
Madyson Organ ran in the 100-meter finals for Northwestern finishing in fifth place with a time of 12.18 seconds.
Camille Dates was the top finisher of the three Ranger runners in the 200 meter finishing with a time of 26.39 followed by teammates
Hope Kerchan who finished at 27.26 and
Melanie Mendiola at 27.41.
In the 400 meter event, Northwestern had three runners finish in the top 20 lead by
Aaliyah Cobb and Kerr'Yelle Carter who finished at 59.01 and 59.09 respectively. Mendiola finished at 1:01.10 and
Peyton Read rounded out things out at 1:03.64.
Amelia Nyambuk led the Rangers in the 400 meter hurdles finishing seventh with a time of 1:09.83 and teammate
Amari Stephens posted a 1:15.05.
Northwestern also had several student athletes compete in field events. In the Triple Jump,
Harmonie Hughes earned a top five finish with a jump of 11.62, followed by Nyambuka who placed 10
th at 10.75 meters.
Brianna Wilson placed 14
th in the hammer throw with a distance of 44.11 meters to lead the Rangers in that event and in the Discus with a distance of 34.65 meters.
Northwestern will return to the track on April 29 for the Great American Conference Championship meet.
