SEARCY, Ark. - Scoring got underway for the Women's team with a 6th place finish in the Javelin throw for Mercedes Glover. Glover threw for a mark of 36.24m. Kaylan Swindle was on the verge of scoring in 9th place. Swindle threw the Javelin 35.26m.
Women's Throws remained hot on day 1 with three top 7 finishes in the Hammer Throw. Mercedes Glover once again led the way for the Rangers with a 2nd place finish and a mark of 46.93m. Brianna Wilson-Larkin finished close behind in 3rd place with a throw of 43.87m. Mckayla Kuplicki rounded out Ranger scoring in the event with a 7th place finish. Kuplicki threw for a mark of 40.90m.
Day 1 of scoring closed in the 10000m run with Junior Ivy Washington finishing in 7th place. Washington crossed the line with a time of 38:24.21.
The Women closed out Day 1 in 2nd place, trailing only Oklahoma Baptist.
Day 2 action began with the Long Jump in which both teams saw scoring. Gabriela Hall earned a 5th place finish jumping a mark of 5.56m. The Men's team got on the board for the first time behind a trio of top 7 finishes. T'Antrae Thomas led the way with a jump of 7.14m. Byron Brown finished 5th with a mark of 6.84m. Jeremiah Anderson closed out Long Jump scoring in 7th place with a mark of 6.69m.
The Men's Shot Put saw the first individual champion for the Rangers in Brock Bourgeois. Bourgeois won the event with a throw of 16.35m. This caps off a historic season for the Sophomore thrower.
Day 2 of scoring for the Rangers closed out big with a D2 Provisional Time from Jamaira Ross in the 3000m Steeplechase. The Senior finished in 4th place with a time of 10:54.02. This sets a new school record in the event and is Ross' eleventh time setting a school record this season.
The opening of day 3 saw the second individual champion in the Men's High Jump. Jeremiah Anderson won a four-way tie in the event with a jump of 1.99m. Malakhi Straker finished in 3rd place while Zachary Bentley finished in 7th place.
Three more Rangers scored in the Men's Triple Jump. Trevon Hodge led the way with a 6th place finish and a mark of 14.47m. Anotida Madondo followed in 7th place with a jump of 14.37m, and T'Antrae Thomas rounded out Ranger scoring with a mark of 14.36m in 8th place. Harmonie Hughes led the way on the Women's side of things. Hughes jumped for a mark of 11.77m which earned her a 6th place finish.
Brianna Behrendt continued the strong showing for the Throws department with a 2nd place finish. Behrendt threw the discus 46.09m. Brock Bourgeois earned more points for the team in the discus paired with his Shot Put win. Bourgeois finished in 7th place with a throw of 46.89m.
The two 4x100m squads earned a 5th place finish on the Women's side, and a 3rd place finish for the Men. The Women's team was compiled of Harmonie Hughes, Gabriella Hall, Aaliyah Cobb, and Madyson Organ. The Men's team included Oshea Johnson, Anotida Madondo, Marshal Self, and Easton Hamar.
Traevion White finished in 5th place in the Men's 110m Hurdles. The Freshman clocked a time of 15.14 secs.
A pair of Rangers got on the board in the Men's 400m dash. Easton Hamar and Oshea Johnson finished in 6th and 7th place respectively. Hamar crossed the finish line in 48.43 seconds, while Johnson followed with a 48.85.
Marshal Self was the lone scorer in the Men's 100m dash. Self qualified for the final on day 2 with a 10.75. However, Self sustained an injury in a previous event but still held strong and jogged the 100m for the point.
Julian Vess got on the board in the Men's 800m run. Vess had a strong finish to cross the line in 7th place and clock a time of 1:56.47.
Merric Judd finished in 8th place of the 400m Hurdles. Judd ran a time of 56.74 seconds.
Easton Hamar clocked a time of 21.87 seconds in the 200m dash to close out an 8th place finish.
The Championship meet closed out with the 4x400m Relay. The Women's team was made up of Madyson Organ, Jada White, Kerr'Yelle Carter, and Aaliyah Cobb. This squad ran a time of 3:54.50. The Men's side saw Oshea Johnson, Alijah Roper, Russell Anderson, and Easton Hamar. The Men finished with a time of 3:21.35 and earned a 5th place finish.
The Men finished in 4th place out of 7 teams while the Women closed out in 6th place out of 10 teams. The Harding Bisons won the meet on both sides of competition. This closes out a historic season for the Ranger Track and Field teams. Ranger athletes now await national championship meet selections.
