Ranger Comeback Falls Short in 80-72 Contest

EMPORIA, Kan. - Northwestern Oklahoma State Men's Basketball took the road to Emporia, Kan. where a late comeback by the Rangers was thwarted late by the Hornets who made several free throws down the stretch.

Individual Leaders
  • Adrian Motley posted a solid stat line with 14 points, five rebounds, and one assist on the night.
  • Deiondray Martin was a good spark off the bench as he provided the second most points on the team with 13. He was 4-of-5 from the floor including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc
  • Two other Rangers in Zachary Dumas and Kevin Harkins also posted double digit points, with 12 and 11 respectively.
Game Changer
  • The Hornets went on an early eight-point run and after surrendering the lead once, the hosts never trailed another minute the rest of the first half and ballgame.
  • The biggest run of the first half came from ESU as they went up by as many as 18, which was ultimately too much to overcome.
  • Northwestern went on a pretty good run of its own as the guests came back from 20 points down to bring the game to a three-point deficit. It unfortunately didn't last long however as the Hornets pushed it back to eight, where the score would end.

  • Northwestern Oklahoma State Men's Basketball will head to Magnolia, Ark. to square off against Great American Conference foe Southern Arkansas next Thursday, Dec. 3 starting at 7:30 p.m.
