ALVA, Okla. -  Game two of the series between the Buffs of West Texas A&M and the Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers was a tight one, going into the 11th inning with the Buffs coming away with the 3-2 win.

At the Plate
  • Two different Rangers had multiple hits in the game as Steven Deckard came up big for the home team, going 2-for-3 at the dish and bringing in the tying run in the ninth to send it to extras. Xyruse Martinez was the other batter to have two hits, going 2-for-5 in the contest.
  • Out of the rest of the eight hits the Rangers were able to get, four other hitters made up the rest as Greg Carrington (1), Thomas Bess (1), Jason Freeman (1) and Cole Anderson (1) all recorded one a piece.
The K Zone
  • Pat Delano threw a solid six and two-thirds innings, giving up five hits while fanning two batters and was credited with a no decision in his second outing.
  • Coming in to relieve Delano was Zach Postoak who hadn't made an appearance in over a year due to injury. Postoak came in and pitched brilliantly, giving up no hits and striking out one batter.
  • Brody Ausfahl came in to relieve Postoak and threw a stellar one-hit two and two-thirds game and unfortunately came away with the loss.
  • Stetson Buller Jr. finished off the game for Northwestern, going two-thirds innings and giving up just a single hit.
Game Changer
  • The West Texas A&M pitchers were dominant once again as the starter, McAllister recorded eight strikeouts and just five hits. the reliever and eventual winner, Tinius only allowed three hits while earning three K's.
  • Perhaps the biggest hit of the day for the Rangers was by freshman Deckard who hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Bess in the bottom of the ninth to send it to extras.
  • In the top of the 11th inning, Hansen of the Buffs poked a single up the middle, bringing in the eventual winning run.
On Deck
  • Northwestern won't hit the field again until next Friday, Feb. 19 when they will make the trek to Durant, Okla. to take on Southeastern Oklahoma State in the first Great American Conference series.
