Men's Basketball Downed at HSU, Qualify for GAC Post-Season

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Northwestern Oklahoma State Men's Basketball was defeated by Great American Conference opponent Henderson State University Saturday afternoon by a final score of 86-77.


Individual Leaders
  • Leading the Ranger offensive unit was Zachary Dumas as he totaled 22 points during the contest. Dumas added two steals, one block, and one rebound to his stat line against the Reddies.
  • Adrian Motley provided yet another solid performance on both ends of the ball as he scored 20 points and was able to pull down 13 total rebounds. 
  • Deiondray Martin added some terrific outside shooting to the black-and-red offense going 4-6 from downtown and finished with 16 points on the day. 
  • Austin Klug also scored in double figures for Northwestern as he put up 10 points and added four rebounds to his overall line. 

Game Changer
  • This contest saw multiple situations play out, from the Rangers holding down the lead, to Henderson State going on a large run and controlling the pace of play towards the end. Each team's overall stats were generally close in this match-up but one that stood out was free throw shooting with the Reddies finishing 19-27 and the Rangers shooting 15-23 from the charity stripe.

  • Northwestern Men's Basketball will next turn their sights to the Great American Conference post-season tournament as the Rangers qualified for the number eight seed overall and will face the number one seed in the tournament, Harding University, in the first round starting Thrusday March 3 with tip off scheduled for 5:45 p.m. at Bruin Fieldhouse in Bartlesville, Okla.
