Rangers Fall in Quarterfinals to Harding, 76-61

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - In its first ever Great American Conference Championship appearance, the Northwestern Oklahoma State Men's Basketball team fell to Harding in the Quarterfinals round, 76-61.


Individual Leaders
  • Austin Klug had a solid night, scoring 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting while bringing down three rebounds in 28 minutes.
  • T'aries Taylor and freshman Zachary Dumas both put up 11 points for the Rangers on the night and were the only other two in double figures for the designated visitors. 
  • Dumas was also perfect from the line shooting 5-for-5.

Game Changer
  • Harding started off hot, going up 7-0, but the Rangers fought back quickly, taking a 12-11 lead at the 15:39 mark. The game was a seesaw battle from there.
  • The Bisons went up by three with 3:33 to play, but the Black-and-Red cut it to one and took the lead following a Klug jumper, which is where the half would end.
  • With just over eight minutes to play in the second half, Harding started to pull away as they couldn't miss going on a 20-10 run over the next five minutes, and ultimately finished the game with a 15-point advantage.
  • Northwestern did take care of business in the rebounding category as they outboarded the Bisons 37-31 on the night.

  • The Ranger men's basketball team qualified for its first postseason since becoming full Division II members in the Fall.
