Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Leading Off - Game One
Score: Arkansas-Monticello 7 – Northwestern 2
Records: UAM (11-6, 6-2 GAC) – Northwestern (6-13, 4-4 GAC)
Location: Myers Stadium – Alva, Okla.

ALVA, Okla. – Game one of the day was a tough one for Northwestern as they fell in a 7-2 decision, following a six-hit performance by the visiting Arkansas-Monticello Weevils, but turned it around in the second game, taking it 4-0.

At The Dish
  • Garrett Douglas was the main threat at the plate in the first game of the day, going 3-for-4 at the dish with a homerun in the process.
  • Only two other Rangers collected hits in the contest with Thomas Bess extending his hitting streak to 12 games and Cooper Stanley who is batting 1.000 as it was his first plate appearance.
  • Stanley's hit was a first pitch laser over the centerfield fence that made it a 7-2 ballgame.

The K Zone
  • Getting the start in the nine inning game was senior Robert Lawhon who pitched really well, only surrendering four hits, but was responsible for three earned runs. He did put down eight batters on strikes in six innings of work however.
  • Brody Ausfahl came in to relieve Lawhon and threw a solid three innings, striking out three, and giving up a single run.

Game Changer
  • It was only a one-run ballgame through four innings, but the fifth inning spelled trouble for the home team as five runs for the Weevils crossed the plate in the inning. An error, a sacrifice fly, a single and a triple were how the runs were brought around.
  • Northwestern made a small rally of their own in the bottom of the ninth where two batters in a row hit back-to-back homers, one by Stanley and the second by Douglas.

Leading Off - Game Two
Score: Arkansas-Monticello 0 – Northwestern 4
Records: Arkansas-Monticello (11-7, 6-3 GAC) – Northwestern (7-13, 5-4 GAC)
Location: Myers Stadium – Alva, Okla.

ALVA, Okla. –  A big game two by the home team helped avoid the series sweep as the Rangers took care of the Weevils in the final game, 4-0.

At The Dish
  • Douglas had a great day overall as he was 1-for-3 in game two, making it 4-for-7 on the day to lead the host team at the plate.
  • Thomas Bess and Tito Montano Jr. and Cole Anderson were the other three to collect hits in the game. Bess' single, put his hitting streak up to 13 games in a row now.

The K Zone
  • Junior right-hander, Dakota Stanek was given the start in game two and threw 5.0 innings and ultimately earning his first win of the season.
  • Reliever Stetson Buller Jr. came in at the start of the sixth inning and was dominant, striking out one and only giving up a single hit in two innings.

Game Changer
  • Northwestern started off with a lead for the first time all series when Jacob Long scored on a passed ball in the second inning to take a 1-0 lead.
  • The fifth inning was a big one for the Black-and-Red as an Anderson single scored both Montano and Deckard.
  • The last run crossed the plate off a double play that brought around Anderson.
