ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern Oklahoma State volleyball came up on the losing side of the second straight 3-2 match of the tournament against Missouri Southern State.
Game 1
Individual Leaders
- Hannah Williams led the way for the black-and-red with 14 kills and 13 digs.
- Natalie Fahey provided another impressive performance leading the Rangers with 15 kills while also posting a .312 hitting percentage.
Game Changer
- After a rough first day the black-and-red came out and dropped the first set against Missouri Southern State 28-26. However, the Rangers didn't give up the first set easy as the largest point differential throughout the set was three points.
- It wouldn't take long for Northwestern to respond however. Led by a strong defensive performance that included five straight digs from Williams, the Rangers took the second set 25-19.
- The Rangers would keep the pedal to the medal in the third set with a 25-6 victory that included nine straight Northwestern points to win.
- Following a 25-18 loss in the fourth set, a late Rangers rally in the fifth set would prove to be not enough as the Lions took the match 3-2.
News & Notes
- Kiauna Clark and Vanessa Maile once again led the team in assists with 24 and 18 respectively.
- Tobi Barker established herself as a key defensive contributor on the back row with 10 digs throughout the contest

Score: University of Colorado at Colorado Springs 3 - Northwestern 1
Records: UCCSU (3-1) - Northwestern (1-3)
Location: Oscar Williams Fieldhouse - Goodwell, Okla.
ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern Oklahoma State volleyball finished up the 2016 Aggies Challenge with a 3-1 loss to Colorado at Colorado Springs University.
Individual Leaders
- Fahey and Jennifer Eubanks led the Rangers with 10 kills apiece.
- Williams produced yet another productive game with eight kills and 13 digs.
Game Changer
- A crucial three point run when the match was at 19-16 late in the set ultimately proved the deciding factor in the set one loss for the Rangers.
- The Rangers capitalized on a service error by the Mountain Lions late in the set followed by a kill from Eubanks to take the second set 25-23.
- The Rangers fought hard but ultimately dropped the last two sets to complete the match.
News & Notes
- The Rangers struggled with their hit percentage as they hit only .161 percent compared to .364 for UCCS.
