ALVA, Okla. - The Northwestern baseball and softball teams are set to kick off their season. Here are the spring 2021 guidelines for attendance of games.

FAN ATTENDANCE
- Fan attendance is permitted at Northwestern Oklahoma State University softball and baseball games this spring due to the nature of the competition and the enhanced ability to socially distance at large, outdoor venues such as Myers Stadium and the Alva Rec Park softball stadium. Ticketing will not be conducted for baseball, or softball games and admittance is free to both home and visiting fans. Seating will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.

- Those in attendance must adhere to state, local and Great American Conference guidelines. Masks are highly recommended and social distancing is required at any outdoor athletic event on campus.

- Signage will be posted around the stadium and public address announcements will be made throughout games to remind those in attendance to wear masks and properly distance themselves from anyone outside of their household unit or family cluster.

- Ushers will be at the event who may remind you to wear your mask or properly social distance. Compliance is required to attend the event.

- Sitting or standing on the ground-level closest to either field fence, as well as sitting or standing along the fence, is prohibited due to COVID-19 protocols. Please stay at least five feet behind the fence.  No leaning over the fence or any railing is not allowed.

- Fans will not be permitted to stand or loiter in the walkway behind home plate and the respective dugouts. Those in attendance can sit in the bleachers where socially distanced marks have been placed. You can also sit along the outfield fence at the softball stadium or park along the third baseline parking lot, overlooking the field.

- Concessions will not be available at either venue. Fans are encouraged to bring water or snacks of their own as these items will not be sold at either stadium.

- Fans are asked to please refrain from interacting with players on either team during or in between games of a doubleheader.

SAFETY PROTOCOLS
- To help fight the spread of COVID-19, heightened safety measures have been implemented this season for our fans at Myers Stadium and the Alva Rec Park softball stadium.

- Fans are asked to follow standard COVID-19 safety guidelines and self-evaluation practices such as washing and sanitizing hands frequently, universal masking and social distancing. If you are ill or have been in contact with someone with COVID -19, please watch the game online and do not come to the field.

- Hand sanitizer stations will be available for public use around the venue. Fans are also encouraged to bring their own hand sanitizer for personal use.

- Northwestern staff will be onsite at the baseball and softball stadiums for the duration of games to oversee sanitation and help provide a clean, safe environment.  If given directions from Northwestern staff to wear a mask or to social distance, we ask that you please follow their directions of Northwestern Staff attendants
