Harding Comes to Alva Thursday Evening

ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State is set to host Harding University on Thursday evening for a home conference game. Northwestern looks to bounce back after a Monday evening loss against the Bulldogs.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM following the conclusion of the Lady Rangers game. This will be the second of three games this week for Northwestern basketball. The Rangers enter with a 7-8 overall record and a 3-8 conference record. Harding comes in with a 5-12 record and 1-10 in the GAC. 

This will be the 20th meeting between the two programs as Northwestern leads the series history 10-9 overall since 2013. The Rangers have won three straight against the Bisons following a season sweep last year for the Rangers winning the matchup in Alva 100-94.Northwestern is 6-3 against Harding in Alva.

Northwestern's last time out was led by Malik Parsons with 27 points one of three double figure scorers joined by Brian Free with 13 and Larry White with 10 points in a close 74-71 loss to Southwestern in the final minute of the game.

Overall this season the Rangers are led by Parsons with 22.1 points per game, one of two double figure scorers averaging per night. He is joined by Brian Free with 13.5 points per game. White is just under at 9.6 a game. Parsons and Free are the team leaders in assists with 48 for Parsons leading the team overall followed by Free with 41.

Larry White has been a force on defense with 22 steals which is third on the team along with 20 blocks second for the Rangers. Overall Shavaul Butters leads the team with 24 blocks on the year. Free leads the team with 24 steals followed by 23 from Parsons. Butters leads the team with 7.1 rebounds per game followed by White with 4.9 rebounds.

HARDING BISONS: 

The Bisons enter Thursday on a five game losing streak and a 1-6 record on the road. Their last time out they lost in Russellville 87-75 to Arkansas Tech. They were led by Taylor Currie with 26 points as one of three players in double figures joined by Ramiro Santiago and Keyln McBride. 

On the season Currie leads the team with 22.4 points per game as the only player averaging double figures for the Bisons. Kyln McBride is the next closest with 9.4 points per game.McBride leads the team in assists with 38 this season. Followed by Santiago with 32 this year. 

On the defensive side of the ball they are led by Taylor Currie with 27 blocks and 10 steals this season. McBride leads the team with 20 steals followed by Sam Henderson with 17. Taylor Currie is the team leading rebounder this year at 9.6 per game.
