CANYON, TEXAS - Northwestern Oklahoma State competed at the Buffalo Invitational in Canyon Texas hosted by West Texas A&M. Due to the weather in Canyon the meet was shortened a little, canceling events in the meet. Even with a shortened schedule the Ranger Track and Field team had a productive outing in Canyon.

Zachary put together her season best in the high jump in the meet finishing third overall in the event with a final mark of 1.54m. Valerie Nzeakor placed third in the long jump event finishing with a final mark of 5.88m. In the triple jump event Ladashery Bell placed sixth overall finishing with a marking of 9.86m.

Hannah Appleton led the way in shot put placing fifth overall while setting the new school record for the event with a final mark of 11.70m. Abigail Meyer, Emmalee Osborn and Temi Michaels each placed in the top 10 as well for the event. Meyer finished with her personal best for the event. 

The Rangers had three athletes in the Hammer Throw in Kelsey Swindle, Osborn, and Michaels each having a top 10 finish. Swindle finished with a collegiate best of 40.35m. In the Javelin Throw Avery Dempsy won the event placing first in the event with a final mark of 31.82m for her new collegiate high. 

In the 100 meter dash Debbie Olalare was the event winner with a final of 12.13. The Rangers finished with the top nine finishers followed by Brianna Brantley, Diamond Hilton, Sachera Douglas, Riley Midgett, Tavonyia Lacy, Kenya Jackson, Shakira Lane and Renja Engermann.
