WINFIELD, KANSAS - Northwestern Oklahoma State completed their schedule before the conference meet. The Rangers took advantage of one last meet as Northwestern had nine personal bests and two school records. The school records were set by Kelsey Swindle in the Hammer throw and the 4x100 team of Diamond Hilton, Brianna Brantley, Shackera Douglas, and Debbie Olalere.
Northwestern had three top 10 finishers in the Javelin as Avery Dempsey led the way for the Rangers placing third after throwing 33.50m. Hunter McMillin placed 5th in the event with a mark of 30.51m followed by Kelsey Swindle finishing eighth with a mark of 25.32m
In the hammer throw for the Rangers Kelsey Swindle placed third overall finishing with a best mark of 43.50m. This mark was not only a personal best but it set the new school record in the event for the Ranger program.
In the Discus event Hannah Appleton was the leader for the Rangers placing eighth in the event overall with a throwing mark of 35.80m.
Rangers had two athletes place in the shot put event with two top eight finishers in Abigail Meyer and Hannah Appleton. Meyer finished with a mark of 11.31m with Appleton following with a 10.95m throw.
Valerie Nzeakor continued her successful season placing first overall in the long jump event following a jump mark of 5.67m. She was one of three Rangers to place in the top eight as Aja Johnson finished fifth with a mark of 5.22m and Kate Foster eighth with a mark of 4.07m.
Next for the Rangers was Gina Wilson placing third in the high jump event with a mark of 1.50m as Avery Dempsey finished seventh with a mark of 1.40m.
The Rangers had three athletes in the top five of the hurdles as Emily Smith placed third in the event with a time of 16.14. She was joined in the top five by Gina Wilson in fourth at 17.19. Kate Foster finished fifth at 18.16.
In the 200 meter run Brianna Brantley placed fourth for the Rangers with a time of 25.63 as one of two athletes to place in the top 10. She was followed by Debbie Olalere with a time of 26.00. Brantley followed the 200 meters helping the Ranger's to their next school record. This record was in the 4x100M relay earning first in the event. The Relay team included Diamond Hilton, Brianna Brantley, Shackera Douglas, and Debbie Olalere with a mark of 47.27.
In the 1500 Meter event the Rangers had two top eight finishers as Addie Hoeme placed in sixth with a time of 6:03.66 and Jerika Coon with a time of 6:33.97 in eighth place.
Rangers continued to find success through the Southwestern relays as Renaja Engermann placed 5th in the 400 meters followed by Shakira Lane in sixth for two Rangers in the top 10. Engermann finished with a time of 1:01.03 and Lane with a time of 1:01.43.
Northwestern continued their high trajectory in the meet with six athletes in the top 10 of the 100 meter event. It all started with Shackera Douglas with a time of 12.29 followed by Debbie Olalere in third with a time of 12.44. Valerie Nzeakor, Riley Midgett, Brianna Brantley were 6-8 with Kenya Jackson placing 10th in the 100 meters.
The 800 meter event featured two Northwestern athletes with Kate Foster placed fifth and Gina Wilson finished seventh in the event.
Northwestern is set to travel to Searcy Arkansas for the conference championship meet that runs through May 4th through May 6th.
