ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State Men's Basketball had a perfect 2-0 week with wins over Southeastern Oklahoma State and East Central to close out the fall semester before the break. Kabeya Tshibangu earned Great American Conference Defensive Player of the week for December 16th-December 22nd.
Tshibangu helped lead the Rangers to a perfect week defensively finishing with four steals, a block while bringing down 22 rebounds for the week including 12 defensive rebounds.
In the overtime victory over Southeastern Oklahoma State Tshibangu played 34 minutes bringing down 14 total rebounds, eight defense and six offense while having three steals in the win.
He followed that game with a steal in the win against East Central while bringing down eight rebounds four defense and four offense.
This the first defensive player of the week award for the Men's Basketball team this season but fourth player of the week as Max Alexander and Camron McDowell (2) have earned offensive player of the week awards.
Northwestern will be off until January 4th when the Rangers are in Shawnee against Oklahoma Baptist Saturday evening.
