TOPEKA, KANSAS - Northwestern Oklahoma State Men's Track and Field opened the indoor season in Topeka Kansas with a meet hosted by Washburn University. During the meet on Saturday the Rangers set two NCAA provisional marks and nine school records.Â

Northwestern was led by freshman Devin Blackwell who won the triple jump placing first overall as he finished with a mark of 14.51M. This mark was his new personal best while setting the school record and hitting the NCAA Provisional standard with the 16th best jump in America for Division II.Â

In the 60M event by Kareem Small with a final time of 6.79 in the preliminary round and a 6.82 leading the way for the Rangers. Both times hit the NCAA provisional standard for the event. His time is the 13th fastest in America for Division II.Â

 Dwight Hamblin was the other Ranger in the top 20 for the event placing 18th with a time of 7.01. The Rangers had five other runs place in the top 50 led here by Quintaveon Noble placing 21st followed by Garrett Redden placing 32nd with a time of 7.14, Kyler Moore at 37th with a time of 7.17, Trevor Montanye at 38th with a 7.19 and Eric Collins 7.24 in 46th. Â

Jayden Geathers placed 10th overall in the 60M Hurdles with a time of 8.61. Â

The next event was the 200M run as the Rangers were led by Eric Collins placing 25th overall with a time of 22.55 followed by Trejon Crump and Kyler Moore in the top 40. Crump ran a 22.86 followed by Moore with a 22.88.Â

In the 400M Oshea Johnson ran a 50.41 placing inside the top 10 for the event in ninth place. Johnson's time of 50.41 set the new school record for the 400M dash. Gilbert Garcia joined him in the top 25 for the event with a 25th place finish with a time of 52.19.Â

Christian Franklin was the only Ranger to run the 600 yard dash finishing in the top five for the event with a time of 1:13.67 with a fourth place finish. Franklin set the new school record for the 600 yard dash.Â

The Long jump event was led by Trejon Crump placing 8th overall in the event with a mark of 6.61M. His mark set the new school record for the long jump. He was followed by Trevon Hodge with a 12th place finish with a mark of 5.94M for the two Rangers in the top 15. Â

Brock Bourgeois led the way in the shot put event with a top 15 finish with his best mark of 13.50M, setting his personal record and school record for the event. Â

The Rangers did have a second athlete placing in the top five for the event with a fourth place finish by Trevon Hodge. Brock Bourgeois finished 10th overall in the weight throw having thrown a mark of 14.95 in the event. Â

James Fincher set the Rangers school record in the 5000M run with a final time of 15:28.73 which was also his personal record.Â
