WICHITA, KANSAS - Northwestern Oklahoma State completed their meet at Wichita State at the KT Woodman Classic hosted by Wichita State.
The Rangers had 13 season bests along with five school records set. Hannah Appleton setting the new discus record, Oliva Saner breaking the pole vault for the second consecutive week, Asia Williams in the 5000M and Asia Williams & Cadence Long-Torres broke the 1500M record in back to back weeks.
In the 100M Shackera Douglas led the way as one of two Rangers placing inside the top 25. Douglas had a top 10 finish, having a time of 12.09 placing 10th overall in the event. Machala Hengen was 21st overall with 12.34.
Tavonyia Lacy led the way in the 200M as Lacy placed 10th overall with a time of 25.31 which was a new season best for Lacy. Diamond Hilton was 21st overall with a time of 25.31 in the event.
In the 400M Tavonyia Lacy also paced the Rangers in this event as she placed 21st with a time of 59.79. Shakira Lane had a top 25 finish as well with a time of 1:01.48.
In the 800ms the Rangers had three top 15 finishers led by Gina Wilson with a time of 2:38.49 placing ninth in the event. Reina Gonzales was 12th overall with a time of 2:39.66 and Asia Williams placed 13th with a time of 2:42.29.
Asia Williams and Cadence Long-Torres placed right inside the top 40 in the 1500M as Williams finished with a time of 5:14.30 placing 37th and Long-Tores finished 38th with a time of 5:14.33. Williams and Long-Torres continued into the 5000M placing 27th and 32nd. Williams had a time of 19.45.72 and Long-Torres had 20:30.34.
The 100 hurdles the Rangers had to top 25 finishers as Hengen placed 21st with a time of 15.86 and Wilson with a time of 16.89 placing 24th.
Northwestern had two teams run the 4x100 relay as Tavonyia Lacy, Shackera Douglas, Diamond Hilton, and Renaja Engermann led, placing sixth with a time of 48.12. In 10th Asia Hicks, Darianne Thompson, Skyler Tillery, and Haley Combs with a time of 49.57.
Olivia Saner placed eighth overall in the pole vault setting the school record in the event for the second straight week with a mark of 3.32M.
In the long jump Darianne Thompson placed 13th in the event with a mark of 5.18m leading the Rangers. In the triple jump Maryam Dianka placed 15th in the event with a mark of 10.56M.
The shot put the Rangers had three athletes compete all placing in the top 25 led by Chloe Grusing with a mark of 10.80M followed by Hannah Appleton and Emmalee Osborn in 19th and 23rd.
Hannah Appleton placed 5th in the discus throw setting her new personal best and school record with a throw of 43.57 as the final mark. Also in the top 10 was Chloe Grusing at 10th with a mark of 39.36M. Appleton continued her success in the hammer throw placing 13th in the event with her season best of 43.39M.
The javelin throw the Rangers had three top 25 finishers led by Jordyn Tucker with a mark of 31.78M with an 11th place finish. Kaylan Swindle, and Alexandra Kepley placed 22nd and 24th overall in the event.
