CANYON, TEXAS - Northwestern Oklahoma State Women's Track & Field had their first outdoor meet of the season in Canyon, Texas hosted by West Texas A&M. Overall there are 11 programs at the meet with no official team scores.
In the meet, the Rangers had a total of 40 personal records, and two school records to open the outdoor season.Â

Kareem Small paved the way for the Rangers in the meet as in the 100M dash, Small hit the qualifying national standard mark at 10.37 placing second in the event and now ranked sixth overall in Division II and first in the conference. His time in the 100 is a new school record. Trevor Montanye finished in the top 10 of the event with a 10.68.
In the 200M dash, Montanye led the way with a time of 21.27 placing ninth overall, he was one in front of Dwight Hamblin placing 10th overall in the event. Rangers now have Montayne ranked first in the conference, Hamblin second, Stapleton third, Small fourth and Johnson all in the top five of the event in the conference.Â
 Harrison Stapleton placed seventh overall in the meet in the 400M with a time of 49.83 leading the charge for the Rangers.Â
Christian Franklin placed first overall in the 800M run winning the respective event for the Rangers one of two in the top five. Franklin ran a 1:56.88. Riley Herndon was fourth in the event with a time of 2:00.76.
Herndon followed his top-four finish with a 10th-place finish in the 1500M. He ran a 4:14.04 in the event. The 5000M Zachary Cox led the way with two top-five finishers as he placed fourth with a time of 16:20.93 followed by Andrew Scott in fifth with a time of 16:34.28.
Mikell Hamilton-Thompson ran a 15.81 in the 110M hurdles placing him in the top five with a fifth-place finish. In the 400M hurdles, Hamilton-Thompson led the charge placing fourth in the event with a time of 56.96.
Starting the field events Devin Blackwell led the way in the high jump placing third with a mark of 1.88m. Kaleb Woolery was sixth in the pole vault for the Rangers with a mark of 3.95m.
In the long jump, the Rangers placed eighth from Trevon Hodge with a mark of 6.74m. Wadleigh Valmyr was seventh in the triple jump for Northwestern with a mark of 12.29.
Next in the throwing events, Brock Bourgeois finished the shot put with a fourth-place finish and a time of 14.03m. Bourgeois finished the discus throw with a seventh-place finish with a mark of 40.29M.
Ethan Burns led the way in the javelin throw as the Rangers had two top-five finishes Burns finished fourth with a mark of 36.92, followed by Woolery with a 35.35m.
The Rangers 4x100 team set the new school record in the event placing third overall with a time of 40.94 led by Small, Montanye, Johnson, and Hamblin. This was good for the second-best in the conference, and a new school record.
