PRAIRIE VIEW, TEXAS - Northwestern Oklahoma State Women's Track & Field had their first outdoor meet of the season in Prairie View, Texas hosted by Prairie View A&M. The Rangers placed third overall in the meet with a final total of 38 points. Northwestern had three school record sets in the meet.
Overall there were 11 teams in the meet as Prairie View A&M led the way with the first-place finish with a total of 119 points.Â
In the hammer throw the Rangers were led by Kaylan Swindle throwing a 38.00M placing second overall in the event. The Rangers had three places in the top four as Temi Michaels finished third followed by Livia Bwakali with a fourth-place finish.Â
Hannah Betts led the way for the Rangers in the long jump with a second-place finish with a best mark of 5.28m in the event. She was one of three placing in the top 10 as Olivia Sipos and Jenesis Tomlinson finished fourth and seventh.
Northwestern dominated the javelin throw as the Rangers had five place in the top 10 and three within in the top five. Led by Ashley Low and Jordyn Tucker placing first and second. Low had a best throw of 42.92 meeting the national qualifying standard mark, while setting the Rangers new school record. Tucker was second with a 35.94m throw.
In shot put Samantha Grimes led the way with a mark of 9.67m placing fifth in the event as Livai Bwakali was sixth in the event also placing in the top 10 for the shot put with a mark of 8.66m.
Oliva Saner placed third overall in the pole vault reaching a mark of 2.90m for the event. Mariya Hamlin was fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.53m.
In the discus throw the Rangers had three in the top 10 led by Samantha Grimes with a mark of 29.80m, followed by Temi Michaels placing sixth and Livia Bwakali finishing seventh.Â
Cadence Long Torres set the new school record in the 1500M run with a second place finish in the event and a final time of 5:12.34. She was one of three athletes in the top 10 of the event, joined by Elisa Bernardez in eighth and Harley Woody in 10th.
The 100M Hurdles the Rangers were led by Olivia Sipos with a final time of 16.58 placing fifth overall in the event.
Krissalynn Henderson placed fifth in the 400M dash with a mark of 1:00.58 to pace the Rangers in the event. Diamond Hilton was 14th overall with a time of 1:02.53.
The 100M was led by Harmonie Hughes with a time of 12.43 with a seventh-place finish to score for the Rangers in the 100M event.
Cadence Long-Torres also led the Rangers in the 800M event with a time of 2:33.70 one of four athletes in the event, as Elisa Bernardez finished 13th overall with a time of 2:42.55.
Diamond Hilton paced the Rangers in the 200M hurdles finishing with a time of 25.93 placing ninth overall in the meet.Â
In the relays, the Rangers placed second with a time of 47.76 in the 4x100 relay with Hughes, Hilton, Hall, and Thompson. The second Ranger team finished sixth and consisted of Green, Sipos, and Buchanan. Engermann, Hughes, Buchanan, and Henderson ran the 4x400 for the Rangers placing fourth.Â
