Rangers Face Tough Conference Competition in Shawnee

SHAWNEE, Okla. - The meet featured multiple Great American Conference squads and was a good opportunity to stack up against them in the early stages of outdoor season. 

Madyson Organ earned herself a top 10 finish in the 100m dash. Organ ran a time of 12.29. Aaliyah Cobb and Alaysianea Dixie ran 12.59, and 12.61 respectively. These times were good enough for 16th and 17th place finishes. 

The 200m dash saw 2 more high finishes from Cobb and Organ. Cobb clocked a time of 25.74 in 8th place, while Organ came in at 11th with a time of 25.99. The Rangers had 2 more top 15 finishes in Jada White, and Anayah Green. White ran a 26.35, while Green finished in 26.46. 

Ava Washington came close to breaking her own school record in the 800m. Washington crossed the line in 13th place with a time of 2:27.08. 

Ivy Washington competed in the 1500m run. Washington finished earned a 12th place finish with a time of 5:11.83. 

Washington had another solid performance along with Cadence Long-Torres in the 5000m run. The pair of Rangers finished in 7th and 8th place respectively. Washington clocked a time of 19:25.61, while Long-Torres finished with a 19:28.94. 

Jamaira Ross won the 3000m steeplechase along with breaking the school record. Ross ran a time of 11:26.11. 

In the jumps department, Gabriela Hall finished in 3rd place in the Long Jump. Hall jumped for a mark of 5.88m. Taylor Weber followed behind in 7th place. Weber jumped for a mark of 5.24m. 

Harmonie Hughes finished runner up in the High Jump with a mark of 11.80m. 

Brianna Wilson-Larkin added to the accolades with a win in the Discus Throw. Wilson-Larkin threw for a mark of 43.54m. Brianna Behrndt earned a 5th place finish as well. Behrndt threw for a mark of 41.66m. 

Mercedes Glover led the Rangers in the Hammer Throw with a 2nd place finish. Glover threw for a mark of 49.97m.  

The Rangers had another top 5 finish in the Javelin Throw. Marissa Finley performed solidly with a mark of 31.72m. 

The Rangers travel north to Wichita, Kansas at Friends University next for the Friends Spring Open hosted by Friends University.
