FT. SMITH, Ark. – Game one of the day in Fort Smith was a pitcher's duel where the Northwestern Oklahoma State baseball team came up on the short end of a 1-0 ballgame.
At The Dish
  • Casey Dickerman had a banner first game at the plate as he was 2-for-2, while drawing a walk in the process.
  • Colten Krokroskia also had a solid first game at the dish going 2-for-3. Dickerman and Krokroskia were the only Rangers with multiple hits in the contest.
  • Xyruse Martinez and Jacob Long collected the other two Ranger hits in the contest.

The K Zone
  • Walker Wharton had a fantastic start, going five and two-thirds innings, striking out seven in his Ranger debut, but the Black-and-Red were unable to put any runs on the board for their hurler.
  • Stetson Buller Jr. came in for the last out of the sixth inning as he was able to get Emerson to fly out to right field.

Game Changer
  • Neither team was able to get many hits off the opposing pitchers, but the one more hit for the Lions was the difference maker.

The K Zone
  • Sophomore pitcher from Braintree, Mass., Matthew Bickford was the game three starter, and he went 3.2 innings on the mound before Brody Ausfahl saw his second outing in relief over the weekend.
