SEARCY, Ark. - Northwestern Oklahoma State took the road to Searcy, Ark. Friday afternoon and came away with a 9-3 loss in game one.
At the Plate
- Jacob Long had a banner day at the plate as he was 3-for-4 with a double and a scored run.
- Thomas Bess and Cooper Stanley were the other two Rangers with multiple hits as they were both 2-for-4. Bess also crossed the plate and brought in a run.
The K Zone
- Pat Delano started on the mound for the Rangers and threw for six and two-thirds innings, giving up 14 hits, nine runs, eight of which were earned.
- Zach Postoak came on in relief for the final four outs of the game surrendering three hits, but no runs.
Game Changer
- The game was scoreless until the bottom of the third when the home team would strike on a triple and a single for their two runs.
- In the top of the fourth inning Xyruse Martinez grounded out to the shortstop bringing in Bess for the score, making it 2-1.
- In the bottom of the fifth inning Harding put five runs on the board on five hits.
- Northwestern was able to plate two runs in the top of the sixth, one on a wild pitch and the other on a single by Bess, leading to Long crossing the plate.
- Harding put two more runs on the board in the seventh, ultimately ending the game in the Bisons favor, 9-3.
On Deck
- Northwestern and Harding will finish the series tomorrow afternoon beginning at noon to decide the series.
