Northwestern Travels to Harding for the Weekend Series

ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern Oklahoma State softball head to Arkansas to take on Harding in a three-game series in Searcy on Saturday and Sunday.
 
The Rangers brings an overall record of 8-22 overall and 3-21 in Great American Conference play into the series.
 
Jill DeVries leads the Red-and-Black; this is her fifth season leading the program.
 
Northwestern is led by Hannah Howell and Lindsey McElroy. Howell holds a batting average of .424, while McElroy holds a .302 average. 

Howell carries a team-high 23 RBI into the game, Jayden Solberg follows with driving in 17. Morgan La Neve is third on the team with 15 RBI, then Allison Zanca and McElroy are next for the Red-and-Black with 14 and 13.
 
Howell heads Northwestern's pitching staff; with a record of 5-9 into the series, throwing 88.0 innings allowing 79 runs, 52 earned, with an ERA of 4.14; she has struck out 51 batters this season. Hannah Scoggin holds a record of 1-10; in 62.1 innings pitched, she has an ERA of 4.72, while striking out 28. Alexia Taylor has a record of 2-1 in 10.0 innings pitched, surrendering 11 runs while striking out four.
 
Harding:
 
The Bisons carry an overall record of 21-11 into the series, while 12-9 in the GAC. Harding has lost five straight conferences games heading into the weekend.
 
HU is led by Hanna Jones, with a .376 batting average with eight doubles, a triple and four round trippers and 13 RBI. Ashton Bryce boasts a .364 average, with three doubles and 20 RBI, while Chelsea Blankenship has a clip of .362 with seven doubles, three triples and a homerun while driving in 15 runs. Nicole Shano holds an average of .359 with nine doubles, four homeruns and a team-high 26 RBI.
 
Harding is led by Lily Tanski in the circle, with an 14-6 record, an ERA of 1.74 in 112.1 innings pitched and collecting 89 strikeouts. Jessica Bridges holds an ERA of 2.22 in 79.0 innings of work and has a record of 6-4.
 
The Bisons are led by head coach Phil Berry, who is in her eighth season at the helm in Searcy. Berry has a record of 250-163 during that time. 

History:
 
The Red-and-Black enter the series after falling to Ouachita Baptist last weekend. Northwestern fell 0-4 to HU in 2019 in Alva, dropping the previous game 5-0. All time, the Bisons lead the head-to-head series 17-7 and are in front with a 11-1 record in Searcy.
