Northwestern wraps up day one at Jo Meaker Classic & Multis at WTAMU

CANYON, Texas – Northwestern Oklahoma State Track and Field completed the first session of the Jo Meaker Classic & Multi at the West Texas A&M Track and Field Complex on Friday.

Due to high winds in the forecast, the planning of the meet had to be adjusted, with most events getting moved to Saturday. The meet will start with the distance races in the morning before the Rangers will wrap up the remaining track events in the afternoon.

The Red-and-Black threw in the javelin Friday afternoon. Eryn Setzer placed ninth with a throw of 30.03m; just behind her was Kelsey Swindle in 10th place, tossing 25.58m.

In 11th place was Elizabeth McMahan, with a total distance of 21.87m. The last Ranger to throw in the event was Shaylee Beck, who threw 15.32m to finish in 13th place.

Swindle also competed in the hammer throw, tossing for a distance of 36.15m.
