Ranger Softball Set to Conclude Festival Against Chadron State

LUBBOCK, Texas- Northwestern Oklahoma State softball is set to conclude their trip in Texas with their fifth game in the last three days. The Rangers are coming off back-to-back split doubleheaders as they are set for a single game Sunday morning with first pich scheduled for 11:00 AM in Lubbock Texas. 
 
The Ranges (2-2) overall won their first game on Saturday 9-2 vs Colorado School of Mines before dropping the night game to host Lubbock Christian in their festival. 
 
Northwestern as a team come into game five with a team average of .260 at the plate. Abby DeTar with a .385 batting average leads the Rangers with team high five hits on the weekend.  Hannah Howell is second with a .364 average with four hits a home run and 6RBI for a team high.  MacKenzie Adams and DeTar lead the team with two doubles each on the season. Jayden Solberg is the last Rangers over the .300 mark so far on the season with two of her three hits extra base hits being a triple and a double including a walk-off triple in the win Friday. 
 
The Red-and-Black pitching staff has been led by Howell throwing two complete games in as many starts along with a complete game shut for a 1.00 ERA through 14 innings of work. She has struck out eight batters overall and stands with a 2-0 record on the year. Hannah Scoggin is second with a 4.20 ERA through five innings of work allowing three earned runs with three strikeouts.  The Rangers come in with a team ERA of 4.48 on the year. 
 
Scouting Chadron State College: 
 
Chadron State (0-4 overall) enters Sunday looking for their first win of the 2022 season after dropping two games on Saturday one to Nebraska-Kearney and Eastern New Mexico.
 
The Eagles are led in hitting by Addison Spears and Jessie Henchenski both hitting .333 on the season. Henchenski leads with a 1.262 OPS as she has hit the team's lone home run and leads the team with 3RBI on the season. As a team the Eagles are hitting .180 on the year with a 7 RBI as three different players have one after Henchenski. 
 
Tia Kohl leads Chadron State's pitching staff with a 4.80ERA after starting three games this season for 11.2 innings of work allowing 8 ER. She is 0-3 on the season. She is followed by Gabby Russell with a 6.75 ERA in 9.1 innings of work with team high 8 strikeouts as well. 
 
History: 
 
This will be the first ever meeting between the two programs of Northwestern and Chadron State College.
