Rangers Travel to Missouri for Mid-Week Doubleheader

ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State Ranger softball will play a Wednesday doubleheader against the Bearcats of Southwester Baptist University in Bolivar Missouri. The first pitch of game one is scheduled for 1:00 PM with the second game shortly following around 3:00 PM.

The Rangers enter play looking to snap their three game losing streak after dropping the home series to Southeastern Oklahoma State over the weekend. Northwestern (9-11 overall 3-8 GAC) enter play Wednesday 2-3 in their last five games with both wins over Southwestern. Northwestern is 2-6 on the road this season overall. 

In the circle for the Rangers Hannah Howell has led the Rangers this season starting twelve games throwing seven complete games including two shutouts with a 6-3 record on the season. Allie Hufford has made the second most appearances on the season but Hannah Scoggin has thrown the second most innings at 33 this year. Hufford has picked up a win and a save on the year in those nine games. Victoria Vasquez has the second most wins on the team this year in her four games. 

Northwestern's offense has been led by Lindsey McElroy hitting .412 as the only Rangers above the .400 mark but one of of five hitting over .300. She is joined by Abby DeTar, Genesis Rodriguez, Howell, Mackenzie Adams, and Jayden Solberg. DeTar and Solberg are tied for the team high at five home runs each on the season for 10 of the 21 hit. DeTar leads the team with 20 RBIs, with Adams at 19 and Solberg and McElroy with 15 each. McElroy and Rodriguez each are above .500 on base percentage for the team highs.

Scouting the Bearcats:
Southwest Baptist (3-12 overall) enter Wednesday on a five game losing streak with their last win coming against Northeastern State. Overall they are 1-3 at home as they get set to host the Rangers for two games. 

The Bearcats are led by Kailtyn Bagby of offense as the lone hitter above the .300 mark on the season hitting .393. The team has two players tied for one home run on the season for two this season as a team. Margo Frossard lead the team with four RBIs to date entering the midweek doubleheader. 

The pitching staff is led by Hallie Henderson with an ERA below one at 0.91 through four appearances this season including one start made. Emma Wood has thrown the most innings for the Bear cats 23 followed by Reily Ruppert as one of four pitchers having six apperances on the season. 

History:

This will be the third meeting between the two teams after the first one in 2014 followed by the 2020 matchup. The Rangers leads the series history 2-0 winning the first game 13-2 followed by the second game in 2020 12-3.
