Rangers Hit The Road For Three Game Series vs. Ouachita Baptist

ARKADELPHIA, ARKANSAS - Northwestern Oklahoma State Ranger Softball traveled to Ouachita Baptist for a three game weekend series against the Tigers. The series will open with a Friday doubleheader with first pitch scheduled for 2:00 PM with the second game following at 4:00 PM. The third and final game of the series will conclude on Saturday March 26th with an 11:00 AM first pitch. 

 

The Rangers (11-14 overall and 5-9 GAC) enter the series winners in their last game over Henderson State including the series victory. The Rangers are 2-3 in their last five games. Northwestern enters play with a 2-8 road record. 

 

Northwestern has been led by Abby DeTar hitting .457 on the season with a team high 24 RBIs on the season including tied for a team high five home runs. She is even in home runs with Jayden Solberg, and Mackenzie Adams. Her .457 leads the team and is one of five players hitting above the .300 mark this season. Others include Allison Zanac with a .345 average, Solberg is hitting .333, Lindsey McElroy .328 and Adams at .314. Adams has 20 RBIs as the other player with 20+ on the season with DeTar. DeTar and McElroy lead the team with seven stolen bases each on the season while Solberg leads the team with a perfect 6-6 in stolen base percentage at 100%. As a team the Rangers are hitting .298 on the season with 23 home runs and 135-RBIs. DeTar also is tied with a .500 OBP with Genesis Rodriguez and Taylor Graham on the year. 

 

The Red-and-Black are led by Hannah Howell in the circle this year with a 4.97 ERA with an 8-3 record on the year including nine complete games in 15 starts made. She has thrown a team high 79.2 innings striking out 51 batters in those innings. Allie Hufford has picked up a win and a save in her 10 appearances this season. Hannah Scoggin has thrown the second most innings at 45.1 striking out 18 with two complete games in nine starts made. Victoria Vasques has picked up the second most wins at 2-1 on  the season.

 

Scouting the Tigers: 

The Tigers (8-19 overall 4-10 GAC) enter the series on a two game losing streak after dropping two of three to Southwestern. Ouachita is 1-4 in their last five games. They enter with a 7-10 home record. 

 

Ouachita is led on offense by Callie Jourdan with a .292 batting average with a team high 13 RBIs. Next is Heather Brown with a .284 batting average with two triples and four doubles with 11 RBIs on the season. As a team high they are hitting .242 on the year with five home runs and 76 RBIs. Hope Waid is hitting .387 in 19 games  to lead the Tigers in batting average this season . 

 

In the circle Madison Miller leads the team with a 3.03 ERA in 13 starts on the year and 15 appearances including eight complete games with a 5-7 record. She has thrown 74 innings on the seasons. Nikki Schneider is second on the teams in wins with two on the year with five complete games with 63 innings pitched. 

 

History:

This will be game number 32-34 between the two programs since 2013. The Tigers lead the series 16-15 overall winning four of the last five games including a three game sweep over the Rangers in 2021. This will be the only regular season series meeting between the two teams.
