ALVA, OKLAHOMA - The Northwestern Oklahoma State Ranger softball team plays a mid-week doubleheader Tuesday afternoon playing host to Fort Hays State. The games are scheduled for first pitch at 1:00 and 3:00 PM on Ranger Softball Field.

Northwestern (12-16 overall 6-11 GAC) comes into the mid-week 2-3 in their last five games and have won two of their last three games at home. Overall the Rangers enter play 6-4 in Alva this season. Rangers dropped their last series two games to three but took the final one game of the series.Â

Abby DeTar and Allison Zanca continue to lead the Rangers offense in batting average after a strong showing in Arkadelphia. DeTar had five hits in the three game series to raise her average to .452, while Zanca had six hits bringing her average to .388 on the season. They are two of five hitters hitting above .300 as Jayden Solberg has a .322 average, Lindsey McElroy at .314 and Mackenzie Adams at .300. Adams leads the team with six home runs on the season with DeTar and Solberg tied with five. The team has hit a total of 26 home run through the 28 games this season. Genesis Rodriguez has a OBP% of .500 with DeTar at .495%. As a team the Rangers are hitting .302 on the season. DeTar leads the team with 29-RBIs this season followed by Adams with 21 on the year.Â

Howell leads the team in innings pitched with 92.2 on the season starting 17 games on the season with 10 complete games including two shutouts on the season. She has struck out 57 batters on the season. She leads the team in wins with a 9-3 record. Victoria Vasquez is second in wins and a team low ERA of 1.17 on the season with a 2-1 record in seven innings of work. Hannah Scoggin is second in innings pitched with 47.1 on the year with two complete games on the year. Allie Hufford has the lone save for the Rangers this season.Â

Scouting the Tigers:
 Fort Hays State (13-17 overall and 0-4 GAC) entered play on a two game losing streak after dropping two games to Nebraska-Kearney.  The Tigers have lost six straight road games and come into play with a 1-8 record away from Hays, Kansas.Â

The Tiger offense is led by Loren Beggs hitting .354 on the season as she is one of four players with their average above .300. She is joined by Sarah Tiffany at .352 followed by Lindsey Kelly at .321 and Jessica Espinoza with a .317 average. They are led in home runs by Sara Breckbill with six on the season along with 21-RBI on the season.Â

Fort Hays' pitching staff is led by Savanah Egger with a 3.07 ERA in 14 starts made with nine complete games on the season with a team high 84 innings pitched. She is tied for the team high in wins with four along with Morgan Schmidt. Egger and Bailey Carlson are close in team ERA with 3.07 and 3.08 with Carlson having a winning record at 3-2 this season.Â

History:
Tuesday's meeting will be the first meeting between the two schools in seven years.This will be just the third meeting between the two teams as the two split a day doubleheader in 2015 as the Rangers won a 6-5 game and lost a 2-0 game that day.
