OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA.- Northwestern Oklahoma State softball is set for a mid-week doubleheader against Oklahoma Christian on the road. Game one is scheduled for 2:00 PM with the second game set to follow around 4:00 PM.
The Rangers (13-23-1 overall and 10-14 GAC) enter Wednesday looking to snap a three game losing streak but win their second straight game on the road.
Northwestern led by Hannah Howell on the mound with 116.2 innings pitched this season including 11 complete games and two shutouts on the season. Hannah Scoggin is second with 67.1 innings of work. Howell leads the team with nine wins on the year with Allie Hufford and Victoria Vasquez each with two.
At the plate the Rangers are led by Abby DeTar with a team high batting average of .419 this season with seven home runs with 35-RBIs on the year. Here OBP% is a team high of .467, along with 10 doubles. The Rangers have three others over the .300 mark including Allison Zanca, Hannah Howell, and Lindsey McElroy. Mackenzie Adams is the home run lead for the Red-and-Black with eight this season followed by DeTar. As a team the Rangers have hit 32 home runs this season with 182 RBIs
Scouting the Eagles:
Oklahoma Christian enters Wednesday with a 32-8 record including winning 18 straight games this season. They enter with a 21-6 record at home including their last 13.
The Eagles have two hitters above .400 in Aaliyah Brown and Chloe Woodward hitting .449 and .413 on the season. Kylie Janzen leads the team with seven home runs this season with 19 total extra base hits including six doubles and six triples. Janzen leads the team with 37 RBIs and Brown with 36 second on the team. As a team the Eagles are hitting .339 with 16 home runs and 228 RBIs.
Kali Crandall leads the team with 111 innings of work for an ERA of 2.21 including seven complete games on the year. She leads the team in wins with 13. Grace Anderson is second with a 2.24 ERA in 103 innings of work with seven complete games and a 2.21 ERA.
History:
This will be meeting number 56 and 57 between the two programs dating back to 2001 and the first since 2019. Oklahoma Christian has won four straight and won four of the last five games.
