ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State Ranger Softball is set to host Harding University over the weekend for a three game series. The series will open with a doubleheader on Friday at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM with a single game Saturday at Noon.
The Rangers (13-25-1 overall and a 7-17 GAC) enter play Friday looking to snap a five game losing streak after losing to #16 Oklahoma Christian this past week. Rangers enter with a 6-8-1 home record this season.
At the plate the Rangers are hitting .279 as a team led by Abby DeTar with a .403 batting average, a .454 OBP% and a 1.128 OPS. She has seven home runs on the season including a team high 25 RBIs this year. Allison Zanca enters with a .354 batting average with four home runs and 19 RBIs this year. Hannah Howell is the third Ranger over the .300 mark hitting .302. Mackenzie Adams leads the Rangers with eight home runs on the season with 29 RBIs.
In the circle Hannah Howell leads the team with 120.2 innings of work with 11 complete games including two shutouts with a 9-9 record in 24 starts on the season. Hannah Scoggin is second on the team with 69 innings of work in 16 appearances 13 of them being starts. She has two complete games this season. Allie Hufford has the second most appearances with 18 and has the Rangers lone save. She is tied with Victoria Vasquez with the second most wins this season with two.
Scouting Harding:
The Bisons (29-14 overall and 15-9 GAC) enter play with an 11-7 road record after losing two of three to Southern Arkansas. They enter 2-3 in their last five games with wins over the Muleriders and Delta State.
In the circle they are led by Abby Burch with a 2.76 ERA with a 4-1 record in 25 appearances made with only one start. She has thrown 33 innings on the season. Maegan Pistokache leads the team with 107.1 innings of work in 27 appearances and 16 starts including one complete game. Lily Tanski is tied for the most wins with Pistokache with 10 on the season.
At the plate they are led by Leigha Harris with a .404 batting average one of four hitters above the .300 mark for the Bions. Joined by Nicole Shano and Emam Curry at .387 and Chelsea Blankenship at .362. Shano leads the team with 14 home runs this season and 43 RBIs. Blankenship is second with eight home runs on 36 RBIs this season.
History:
This will be game number 28-30 between the two teams as Harding leads the series 20-7 overall with the Rangers. Harding enters on a seven game win streak dating back to 2019 as the Rangers look to snap the losing streak for the first win over Harding since 2018.
