ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Ranger Softball is set to close out their regular season this weekend against the Muleriders of Southern Arkansas in Alva, Oklahoma. This will be senior day weekend for the Rangers. The series is scheduled for a doubleheader Friday starting at 2:00 PM followed by a 4:00 PM first pitch. Saturday will conclude the season with a 11:30 first pitch however Senior day pregame ceremonies will take place at 11:00 AM.
Northwestern Oklahoma State (13-31-1 overall, 7-23 GAC) enters the weekend looking to snap an 11 game losing streak after losing the series to Arkansas Tech last weekend. Rangers come in with a home record of 6-11-1 this season.
Abby DeTar has led the Rangers offense through the season with a .367 batting average and a .414 OBP% as one of two players with an average of .300. Allison Zanca is second on the team with a .346 batting average with a .404 OBP. Mackenzie Adams leads the team with 10 home run with 35 RBI tied for the team high with DeTar. Hannah Howell is third on the team with 22 RBIs this season.
In the circle Howell has been the leader making 28 starts including 13 complete games this season throwing 143 innings overall. She has nine wins on the season which is good for team leader along with 73 strikeouts. Victoria Vasquez and Allie Hufford are tied with two wins for second on the Rangers. Hannah Scoggin has three complete games on the year with 41 strikeouts in 15 starts made.
Scouting the Muleriders:
Southern Arkansas (33-14 overall, 24-6 GAC) enters the weekend on a two game winning streak following a series win over the Crimson Storm two games to three. They enter the weekend with a 4-1 record in their last five games and an 11-4 record away from home.
In the circle the Muleriders are led by Kiana Pogroszewski with a 13-4 record including nine complete games on the season. She has thrown 118 innings of work with 114 strikeouts. Baylie Thornhill is second with a 1.82 ERA in four starts made, while Sydney Ward is 15-3 with a 1.96 ERA with eight complete games on the season.
Jade Miller is the team's leading hitter with a .416 batting average followed by Alese Casper, and Jaxynn Dyson. Miller has 11 home runs on the season with 32 RBI. The RBI lead for the Muleriders is Jaxynn Dyson with 38 this season. As a team the Muleriders are hitting .297 with 54 home runs and 234 RBIs on the year.
History:
The weekend series will be games 34-36 against the Muleriders as Southern Arkansas leads the history meeting 26-7 overall. Southern Arkansas enters currently on a 16 game win streak overall against the Rangers as Northwestern looks to snap their losing streak against Southern Arkansas.
