Rangers Defeated in Doubleheader Saturday

Leading Off - Game One
Score: Southeastern 5 – Northwestern 3
Records: Southeastern (7-6, 3-0 GAC) – 
Northwestern (1-10, 0-3 GAC)
Location: Alva Rec Complex, Okla.


ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball was defeated by Great American Conference foe Southeastern Oklahoma State University Friday afternoon by a final score of 5-3.

At The Dish
  • Offensively the Rangers were led by Jordan Haya who was able to go 2-for-4 on the day, and knocked in two runs as well. 
  • Amber Mills racked up two hits in the contest also going 2-for-3 at the plate. 
  • Sarah Williams recorded a solid stat line of her own going 1-for-3, and scoring two runs. 

The K Zone
  • Jalena Arthur started off in the circle for the home team going a total of 5.0 innings, giving up two earned runs, two walks, and five hits. 
  • Brittany Olender and Madison Garza provided combined relief for the final 2.0 innings of the game as well. 

Game Changer
  • The Savage Storm was able to move the runners around the bags as they left only seven runners on base compared to Northwestern's 10, which proved to be a difference maker in a two run ballgame.

ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball was also defeated in the second game of the day against Great American Conference member Southeastern Oklahoma State University by a final score of 7-2.

At The Dish
  • Peyton Garrett provided a solid offensive outing for the Rangers as she went 2-for-4 on the day with one run scored. 
  • Megan Sanders and Haya both contributed one RBI each to the Northwestern score line in this second contest of the afternoon. 
     
The K Zone
  • Madison Garza started the game for the home squad going 3.0 total innings giving up three earned runs, allowing one walk, eight hits, and striking out one.
  • Brittany Olender, Erin Norrie, and Ashlye Poole each provided the remaining 4.0 innings of combined relief, allowing zero runs and striking out three batters. 
     

Game Changer
  • The biggest stat to affect the outcome in this match-up was the total number of errors by each team with Southeastern finishing with zero and the Rangers totaled five in this contest. 
 


On Deck
Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball will head to Ada, Okla. to take on GAC opponent East Central University in a four game series beginning Friday, Feb. 26 starting at 1 p.m.
