Rangers Defeated in Doubleheader Against Muleriders

Leading Off - Game One

ALVA, Okla. - Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball was defeated in their first contest of the series against the Muleriders of Southern Arkansas at home by a final score of 16-1.

At The Dish
  •  Leading the Rangers offensive unit in the opening contest was Jordan Haya who went 2-for-2 with one homerun, one RBI, and one run scored.
  • Sarah Williams and Peyton Garrett each recorded one hit a piece in this first match-up as well. 

The K Zone
  • Madison Garza started in the circle for the Rangers but struggled early on giving way for Karly Murray to come in to relieve her in the first inning.
  • Erin Norrie came in to relieve Murray in the first inning as well and went on to finish the game throwing 4.2 total innings with two strikeouts.

Game Changer
  • Southern Arkansas shot out of the gate quick in this contest as they were able to score 10 total runs in the first inning of this game so give them a substantial lead moving forward in the match-up.

ALVA, Okla. - Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball was taken down in game number two of the day against the Muleriders at home by a final score of 1-0.

At The Dish
  • Sarah Williams was the offensive force for the black-and-red in the second match-up as she finished 1-for-3, recording the Rangers sole hit of the contest. 
  •  Taylor Watham was able to reach base as well as she tallied one walk in the game also.
     
The K Zone
  • Madison Garza once again received the start and provided a much better showing in game two as she went the distance throwing 7.0 innings and only allowed one earned run on six hits and was able to strike out three total batters. 
     

Game Changer
  • SAU was able to move their runners in this second of two games today as they totaled six hits compared to the Rangers one.
  • Northwestern also committed two defensive errors which allowed Southern Arkansas to move their runners into better scoring position. 
     


On Deck
Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball will face GAC opponent Southern Arkansas once again in a doubleheader Sunday March 13 at the Alva Rec Complex in Alva, Okla. starting at 11 a.m.
