Leading Off - Game One

BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball fell against non-conference opponent Drury University in their opening game of day two in the 8-State Classic in Bentonville, Ark. by a final score of 5-3.

At The Dish
  • Stephanie Couser led the black-and-red at the plate, going 2-for-4 on the day, scoring one run and knocking in two RBIs.
  • Madison McGraw also had a solid day offensively finishing with two hits, one double, and one RBI.
  • Jordan Haya and Morgan Lewis each contributed one hit each to the Ranger offensive effort.

The K Zone
  • Jalena Arthur went a full 7.0 innings during this match-up as she only gave up two earned runs, on 12 hits, and was able to strike out five total.

Game Changer
  • Drury certainly got the job done with runners on base as the Panthers hit .474 compared to the Rangers average of .182 with runners on. 
  • Despite being able to come back and tie the ball game up at 3-3, Drury's big sixth inning in which they scored two runs to eventually seal the game at 5-3.

Records: Northwestern (1-7, 0-0 GAC) – WJC (1-2, 0-0 GLVC)
Location: Bentonville, Ark.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. - Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball was defeated in their second contest of their second day in Bentonville by William Jewell College by a final of 11-2. 

At The Dish
  • Jordan Haya led the Northwestern offense in the match-up as she went 1-for-3 with one run scored, one RBI, and one homerun.
  • Audrey Estes also contributed to the offensive unit going 1-for-2 on the night with one RBI. 
     
The K Zone
  • Karly Murray started in the circle for the black-and-red and went a total of 3.0 innings giving up four earned runs, on eight total hits. 
  • Madison Garza came in on relief to throw 2.0 innings giving up three earned runs on seven hits. 
     

Game Changer
  • Northwestern committed two errors on the evening compared to William Jewell's zero, which allowed the Cardinals to take advantage and bring in multiple runs. 
 


On Deck
Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball will return home to Alva next as the Sunday games for the 8-State Classic in Bentonville, Ark. have been canceled due to incoming inclement weather in the area. The Rangers will face off against Great American Conference foe Southeastern Oklahoma State in a four-game series beginning Friday, Feb. 19 for a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
